Homemade Paleo Ranch Dressing and Dip

I didn’t grow up eating ranch dressing. Actually, I didn’t grow up eating salad. We did eat fruit (and we probably ate salad too and I just don’t remember). That was Ohio. Here in the south, ranch dressing seems to go with everything! So when we started eating paleo in my house, I needed to figure out a way to make a good, paleo ranch dressing or else I might have to give up my newly acquired southerner card!

Here’s the recipe I came up with. It’s really easy, but you do need to start by making the dry ranch seasoning mix. Then you’ll use that to make your dip or dressing. Store that leftover seasoning mix and use it for Jalapeño Popper Pork Loin or any other recipe you want to give a little extra zing!

This recipe does call for paleo mayonnaise, which you can now buy at your regular, old grocery store. Just look for one without added sugar and using avocado or olive oil for the only oil. I do highly suggest you learn to make your own though. It’s cheaper and way more delicious. I’ll link a video below that I made many, many years ago showing you how.

  • For a dip, use less milk, for a dressing, use more.
  • Store dressing in the refrigerator. Store any leftover seasoning blend in an old spice jar or other glass jar with your other spices.
