  • Hi Elizabeth, I am 45 years old and believe I am pre-menopausal or insulin resistant. I’m having a hard time determining because my doctor will not do a hormone test (he says they’re not accurate which means to him that they are not useful). So I’m stuck guessing which state I’m in! My sleep is awful, I’m having frequent mood shifts, I’m gaining weight even though I don’t think I’m eating a ton)…would you say the paleo recipes and meal plans would help either issue?

    • Hi Nicole, The short answer is yes, I think a paleo diet would help. You would be eliminating inflammatory foods, which could help sort out issues that are not directly related to premenopausal hormone shifts and it would certainly help address the insulin resistance. There are hormone tests that can be helpful, but you need a doctor who is on board with that and could interpret them correctly and it sounds like yours is not.
